The University of Connecticut, Department of Procurement Services, seeks to hire a Senior Contract Specialist for Construction & Professional Services (UCP 9).  Under the general direction of the University Director of Procurement Contracting & Compliance, the Associate Vice President for University Business Services & Chief Procurement Officer and/or designated administrator, the Procurement Services Senior Specialist is responsible for the oversight and administration of all contracting activities relating to the capital construction program for all University of Connecticut campuses, including UConn Health in Farmington

 

The Senior Contract Specialist is accountable for performing and managing the most complex tasks in their area of expertise with a primary focus on construction and related professional services.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to drafting, negotiation, and review of procurement and contractual documentation, agreements and reports; utilizes the University’s contract management system to upload, monitor and track vendor agreements and contract status; analyze technical data, i.e. product and pricing information; establishes and maintains contractual templates/language libraries; establishes internal contracting procedures; conducts training seminars for staff pertaining to compliance; develops and maintains necessary requisite knowledge of contracting and procurement law, principles and practices; and serves as a primary liaison with the Office of the General Counsel, Office of the Attorney General (when required), outside legal counsel and senior University administrators and officials.
